The Morning Score: Tuesday

Organisedconfusion reigns, Doyle eyes an early comeback, and the Cavan County Board decide to give up hurling for a little while.

1. #GRAND NATIONAL At Fairyhouse yesterday, Nina Carberry became just the second woman ever to win the Irish Grand National when she partnered Arthur Moore’s 12/1 shot Organisedconfusion to victory.

Incredibly, Carberry becomes the fourth member of her immediate family to win the race, joining father Tommy and brothers Paul and Philip on the list of Grand National winners.

2. #COMEBACK Republic of Ireland striker Kevin Doyle is hopeful that he could return to action before the end of Wolves’ Premier League campaign.

The Wexford man was expected to be sidelined until late May with a knee injury but now could be back in time to face Sunderland on May 14.

3. #SITTING OUT The Cavan County Board have announced that they are withdrawing their senior hurling team from all competitive competitions for the next five years in order to concentrate on developing a viable underage structure.

Cavan were forced to drop out of the Lory Meagher Cup late last week after only seven players attended training.

4. #HEINEKEN CUP Toulouse captain Thierry Dusautoir should be fit to be face Leinster in Saturday’s Heineken Cup semi-final.

The 29-year-old flanker made his comeback from a leg injury on Saturday, playing a full 80 minutes in the French side’s 33-0 victory over Bourgoin.

5. #SNOOKER Ronnie O’Sullivan completed a 13-10 victory over Shaun Murphy at the Crucible yesterday evening, then promptly turned his attention to a mouth-watering quarter-final clash with world number one John Higgins.

The first session of their clash begins at 2:30pm this afternoon.

6. #SKILLZ We’ve seen lots and lots of American football “trick shot” videos over the last few months but it has been a while since we found one of note.

We’re not sure exactly what age this kid is but, if he’s in seventh grade, we’re guessing he’s probably 12 or 13. Impressive.
