The Morning Score: Wednesday

Everything you need to know to get over hump day.

1. #RWC2011 Declan Kidney has made four changes to the Ireland team for the game against Australia on Saturday morning.

Sean O’Brien and Cian Healy return to the pack after sitting out last weekend’s group opener against the USA. Tom Court and Shane Jennings miss out.

Eoin Reddan will replace Conor Murray at scrum-half while Rob Kearney replaces Geordan Murphy. Jerry Flannery has since pulled up in training however, according to RTE, and maybe be a real concern.

2. #ALL-IRELAND Kerry last night named their starting XV for Sunday’s much-anticipated decider with Dublin.

Former Footballer of the Year Paul Galvin is on the bench as Donnchadh Walsh is given the nod by manager Jack O’Connor.

3. #CHAMPIONS LEAGUE The group stages got under way last night throughout Europe.

Arsenal were denied a win in Germany when Dortmund equalised late on. Chelsea were comfortable against  Bayer Leverkusen at Stamford Bridge while Milan book-ended a typically impressive Barcelona performance with a really early and late goal to snatch a 2-2 draw at the Nou Camp.

Catch up with all the action in our minute-by-minute report.

4. #RWC2011 The day’s over already for our liveblogger Conor. He’s already brought us Canada v Tonga as well as Samoa v Namibia.

Niall is now currently watching Scotland v Georgia. Do join him for a coffee.

5. #CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Manchester City get their first campaign going tonight with the visit of Napoli. City rivals United are away to Benfica. We’ll bring you all the action as it happens.

6. #US OPEN The tournament ended on a high with stunning men’s final on Monday night. But one arguement rumbles on.

Philip Petzschner and Jurgen Melzer won the men’s final after the former failed to admit to the ball hitting his leg (details here). What do you think?
