TIGER WOODS HAS BEEN included in the USA Ryder Cup team, announced today by captain Corey Pavin.

Woods was one of four wild card picks announced at the New York Stock Exchange at 3.30pm Irish time, the others being Zach Johnson, Stuart Cink and Ricky Fowler.

The world number one has been struggling for form so far this year aftera high-profile divorce from wife Elin Nordeegren. Woods has not won this season in eleven starts.

This year’s tournament in Celtic Manor from 1-3 October is the first Ryder Cup for Woods since 2006, and is also his first as captain’s pick.

Of the other wild cards, Ricky Fowler is perhaps the most interesting. The twenty-one year old will make his Ryder Cup debut and hasn’t finished in the top ten in a tournament since June.

Four other players- Overton, Watson, Johnson and Kuchar- will also play in their first Ryder Cup.
