11 of All-Ireland minor winning team named in Tipperary U21 side for Munster quarter-final

Tipperary take on Waterford on Wednesday night.

11 MEMBERS OF Tipperary’s 2011 All-Ireland minor winning football team are named to start for the county’s U21 side in next Wednesday’s Munster quarter-final.

Manager David Power, who was at the helm for that minor success three years ago, is in charge again here for the clash against Waterford at the Fraher Field in Dungarvan.

He has named a strong side with minor winners in the full-back line of Niall O’Sullivan, John Meagher, and Conor O’Sullivan, half-backs Seamus Kennedy and Bill Maher, and the midfield duo of Steven O’Brien and Colin O’Riordan.

In attack the half-forward line of John McGrath, Ian Fahey and Greg Henry all started in 2011 as did full-forward Michael Quinlivan, who was recently on UCC’s Sigerson Cup winning team.

Eight members of the Tipperary team that contested last year’s Munster U21 final are involved on this occasion – Gearoid Slattery, Niall O’Sullivan, Conor O’Sullivan, Kennedy, O’Brien, Maher, Fahey and Quinlivan.
