THE DRAGONS ENJOYED a 22-16 in their version of an inter-provincial derby against Cardiff in the RaboDirect Pro12 last night. The win was down to their usual determined effort in defence, as well as a smart try directly from a line-out.
Toby Faletau was the man to dot down, but credit must go to hooker Thomas Rhys Thomas and prop Nathan Buck for their parts in the score. Lock Andrew Coombs deserves some of the applause for his involvement too, calling the play that resulted in an elusive first-phase try.
The Dragons have been intelligent and innovative in other areas of the game this season too, and their current sixth place is just reward. The try above was a quality example of set-piece moves ar the line-out, but still some distance from equalling our favourite; the All Blacks’ famous and classic ‘tea bag’.
