Tommy Bowe will present RTÉ holiday show while recovering from ankle injury

Move over, Judith Chalmers!

ULSTER WING TOMMY Bowe has been listed among the guest presenters for RTÉ One’s holiday show, Getaways.

The Monaghan native is currently recovering from surgery on an ankle injury, sustained in a cruelly brief cameo during Ireland’s Six Nations defeat to Wales in March.

The time-frame for his recovery was set at up to 12 weeks and in today’s statement Bowe said he was excited at the opportunity to present Getaways while he prepared for next season.

“I was disappointed after my injury in the Six Nations but this gives me an opportunity to explore another avenue while preparing myself for next season. Being a part of a great series like Getaways is a dream come true for me and I’m looking forward to the new challenge.”

The show will air early next year, featuring trips to Ibiza, the south of France, New York and Porto.

Bowe will join Vogue Williams, Mairead Ronan and Joe Lindsay on the presenting panel.
