HEINEKEN CUP CHAMPIONS RC Toulon and Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique Marseille will take eachother on in a game of half rugby, half football this month.

And who better to referee the clash of codes they call ‘Le Choc’ than Eric Cantona and Marc Lievremont? Well, plenty of people probably, but it ought to make for intriguing viewing.

Toulon’s home of Stade Felix Mayol will host the event on July 17. The match is in aid of charity ‘Un sourire, un espoir pour la vie’ – ‘A smile, hope for life’ – which aims to support sick orphans and families with children who are battling cancer.

If you happen to be in the region, you can get tickets here.

How do you see this unfolding? Will Mathieu Bastareaud’s first touch be up to scratch? Can Andre-Pierre Gignac exploit the gaps out wide?
