Trimble and Bowe return as eight called up to Ireland squad

Declan Kidney looks to new faces ahead of Scotland trip this weekend.

DECLAN KIDNEY HAS drafted in eight players to Ireland’s match-day 22 for the visit to Murrayfield on Sunday.

Andrew Trimble is included in the squad after he returned to competitive action for Ulster at the weekend following a hand injury.

Tommy Bowe also returned to play for the Ospreys having recovered from a knee injury that has kept him out of the opening two rounds of the championship. He also gets the nod from Kidney.

Backs Denis Hurley and Gavin Duffy return while second rows Mick O’Driscoll and Donnacha Ryan are also present. Munster try-scorer Tony Buckley and back row Rhys Ruddock complete the new recruits.

The Ireland squad will gather in Dublin this evening with the first training session scheduled for tomorrow.
