JOSE ALDO AND Conor McGregor both made weight last night ahead of their featherweight title bout unification bout at UFC 194, which takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
The rivals each hit the mark at 145lbs, with McGregor again wearing the signs of the sizeable weight-cut on his gaunt face.
Aldo appeared to get under his skin too at the staredown. The Brazilian mimicked ‘The Notorious’ by striking a pose similar to McGregor’s at Wednesday’s press conference.
“I’m sick of talking about Jose,” said McGregor afterwards. “I visualise and I look at his facial features, and I know that the soft parts of his face won’t be able to take my shots.”
A mostly Irish crowd of 9,000 fans packed out the arena for the weigh-ins. McGregor said: “I just want to thanks the Irish people for coming out here for me. It means everything. Tomorrow night I will bring that gold home for Ireland once again.”
Aldo said: “I don’t care what he has to say. The thing is, I’m coming in here tomorrow night and I’m going to be the champion.”
