The Argentine was disqualified from the final of Queens for venting his frustration on an elderly limb.

WE’VE SEEN SOME tennis tantrums in our time, but they don’t usually involve doing actual harm to anybody else.

In today’s final at Queens the Argentine was leading Marin Cilic, but as a handful of break points went against him in the second set, he lashed out.

His intended target was a small piece of advertising, but he failed to see the possibility that his follow through would wound the innocent pensioner behind.

Not cool, David.

Nalbandian was instantly disqualified and the title awarded to a less than jubilant, Cilic.

Nalbandian, speaking to BBC afterwards, still seems to be slightly disconnected from his actions, saying:

“There are a lot of rules, the rule book is very big. The ATP have made mistakes with the players and nothing happens.”

Not sure you need a rule book to know that kicking one of the judges isn’t on.
