HE WAS LABELLED the fastest man in the world having held the world record of 19.32 seconds over 200 metres for over 13 years.

More recently, we’ve become accustomed to Michael Johnson offering some cool, calm assurance to BBC athletics coverage which often threatens to fall of its chair in excitement.

Well, now we know that MJ isn’t constantly uber-cool  and is not, in fact, a gifted all round athlete after all. For instance, he tried his hand at sailing this weekend and made the schoolboy error of assuming the surface he was moving across would not move.

He was wrong and he was wet.

We missed his disappearing act on first viewing, so keep your eyes peeled on the back of the boat in the first five seconds.
