IRELAND’S DAN MARTIN has hit out at race organisers after he was forced to pull out of La Vuelta a España before today’s eighth stage.
The Garmin-Sharp man crashed 11 kilometres from yesterday’s finish line while part of a bunched peloton.
The Tour de France stage winner complained of concussion, despite having chased the pack for the remainder.
Last night, he tweeted:
This morning, Martin added a severely critical barb at race organisers for a lack of compassion and awareness of rider safety.
