IT’S BEEN A disappointing Masters so far for both Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia.
The pair are ten and eight shots off the lead respectively, and sought to embrace one other, in recognition of their mutually woeful form.
“I think we were both needing it. We both didn’t have our best stuff with us,” admitted McIlroy.
Meanwhile, Garcia added: “We couldn’t really feed off each other’s good energy because there pretty much wasn’t any.
“Our bad holes were really bad and our good holes were bad.”
Peter Hanson currently leads on 9-under at Augusta, one shot ahead of Phil Mickelson.
