WATCH: NBA player gets a kick to the face

Kevin Love has been banned by the NBA for two games after he took his physicality a step too far over the weekend.

STAMPING IS PRETTY uncommon in the NBA.

Sure, the players are wearing runners, and so can’t do the same damage as a six-pack of studs. But when foot meets face, nobody ends up looking good.

Here the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Kevin Love is in the midst of a rebound battle against the Houston Rockets’, Luis Scola.

The physicality was pretty intense. Love had already knocked Scola to the floor on his way to a basket. On Scola’s next attack he was on the deck again. This time, Love decided to administer a kick while he was down.

Yesterday the Timberwolves man, dubbed ‘the toughest customer in the league’ by this commentary team, was hit with a two game ban for his actions.

Now, having had time to sit on the naughty step Love has unreservedly apologised, not only to the Scola, but to the whole entire world

“My intention is to never hurt another player on the basketball court.” Bawled Love, “I’ve always had the utmost respect for the game of basketball and all of my opponents. I also apologize to my coaches, teammates and our fans for the consequences of my actions.”
