WATCH: Swansea seal promotion in thrilling play-off final

Noel Hunt made them sweat as the Royals looked on for a famous comeback but the Welsh side will play top-flight football next season.

THE PREMIER LEAGUE will welcome its first Welsh club to the top flight after a dramatic Championship play-off final this afternoon.

Scott Sinclair struck a hat-trick as Swansea survived a thrilling second-half fightback from Reading to clinch promotion.

Scott Sinclair’s 25th and 26th goals of the season midway through the first half set the Swans on their way – the opener coming from the penalty spot. Stephen Dobbie added a third while the Royals failed to fire.

But these games have a habit of being goalfests and today’s Wembley showpiece didn’t disappoint. Irish international Noel Hunt signalled a fightback with Reading’s first before Matthew Mills made it a one-goal game.

Sinclair completed his treble with another spotter however, putting the result and promotion beyond doubt.
