SHANE WALSH HAS become the second Waterford hurler to hang up his boots this week, following Seamus Prendergast’s decision to retire on Tuesday evening.

Fourmilewater/The Nire clubman called time on his career today, having been involved with the Deise senior panel since 2003. Walsh scored a point in their Munster final win over Cork in 2010 and also won a provincial crown in 2007.

A talented footballer, Walsh scored the winning goal in the 2003 U21 Munster final, when Waterford shocked a Kerry side featuring Colm Cooper, Kieran Donaghy and Declan O’Sullivan.
