A GAME IN the SSE Airtricity League First Division was abandoned this evening — when a generator caught fire.
Wexford Youths led Athlone Town 2-0 when the electrical fault caused the floodlights in Ferrycarrig Park to fail.
After a lengthy delay, the match was abandoned at half-time. An FAI statement confirmed that it will be refixed in due course.
