Double Blow

Which Tyrone players have quit Mickey Harte's panel

Star duo call time on inter-county career.

TYRONE’S SENIOR FOOTBALL manager Mickey Harte has been dealt a double blow with the news that Ryan Mellon and Colm McCullagh have both called time on their inter-county careers.

Moy clubman Mellon scored the opening two points in the 2005 All-Ireland final victory over Kerry and he was also part of the 2008 Sam Maguire success.

The 30-year-old has a full set of All-Ireland medals, having played on title-winning minor and U21 teams.

McCullagh is also an All-Ireland winner and the Dromore man is retiring due to work and family commitments.

Mellon made his debut in 2003, but was out of action for 18 months due to illness.

In a further blow for Tyrone, Harte will also be without the services of Ciaran Gourley for next season’s league campaign.
