KOBE BRYANT HAS a large fan base in Asia. During NBA off-seasons it’s not unusual to see the LA Lakers star on promotional tours of China, Japan and beyond.
One place the 35-year old is especially loved is Taiwan where this statue has just been unveiled.
We’re no experts on art but we know when things are weird.
The sculpture, part of a wider basketball related art exhibition, features Bryant being attacked by a black mamba snake – in homage to his nickname – which is biting on his Achilles tendon, the injury which forced the 16-time All-Star to miss the first 19 games of last season.
Oh, and he’s in the nip.
