Unstoppable Cork dominate All-Star list after their latest All-Ireland triumph

Champions receive 11 nominations, with eight going to runners-up Dublin.

ALL-IRELAND CHAMPIONS Cork lead the way with 11 nominations for the TG4 All-Stars after clinching their 11th title in 12 years.

Rebel legend Briege Corkery is in line to win her 10th football All-Star — but she could be eclipsed by Mayo’s Cora Staunton who is hoping to win a magnificent 11th.

Beaten finalists Dublin have eight nominations while Mayo, Monaghan, Donegal and Waterford all have four apiece, with all three of the Wall sisters — Mairead, Linda and Aileen — representing the Déise.

Seven intermediate players, including three from champions Kildare, are included among the 45-strong list.

The All-Star team will be announced at on 12 November along with the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Players’ Player of the Year, the Provincial Young Players of the Year, and the 2016 inductee into the LGFA Hall of Fame.
