LILYWHITE SEAN HURLEY is enjoying his Aussie Rules trail in Fremantle, but he admits that the intense sunshine is taking a little bit of getting used to.

Hurley is currently in Freo, just outside Perth, with the Dockers and training in the middle of the day is proving tough.

“I was feeling okay, but I wasn’t looking okay apparently!” he laughed in an interview on the club’s YouTube channel.

“We were doing two laps at a time and they’re fairly big laps compared to home because we have much smaller pitches.

“I was called in after about three sets and they said to me that my face was like a lobster. I was given a wet towel and put more sunscreen on!”

Hurley is currently a student at NUI Maynooth and he was man of the match when Johnstownbridge won last month’s Kildare Intermediate Football Championship.

Daniel Flynn was on the same Leinster Under-21 winning team as him this year and he has already earned himself a contract with AFL side Port Adelaide.

Hurley is hoping to follow in his footsteps and put pen to paper with the Fremantle Dockers. He played for the Lilies against eventual All-Ireland winners Dublin in this year’s Leinster semi-final at Croke Park in June.
