Clear-out: Edin Dzeko, 29, is set to join Roma after agreeing personal terms, but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee, according to Sky Sports. Dzeko’s departure would leave Manchester City with just two recognized strikers after Stevan Jovetic also left for Inter Milan.
In talks: Aston Villa have been linked to a number of strikers over the last week and the Birmingham Mail is now reporting that they are in talks with Blackburn regarding the potential £7m transfer of striker Rudy Gestede. They say that a fee has been agreed and the medical could take place over the weekend.
On the move:Rickie Lambert now looks certain to leave Anfield, paving the way for Christian Benteke to be the new number nine. The 33-year-old is expected to finalise a move to West Brom in the next few days, although The Guardian reports that the clubs have yet to agree a fee for the former England striker.
Young gun: Barcelona youngster Adama Traore is reportedly holding talks with Liverpool over a loan deal, according to Catalan radio station RAC1. The 19-year-old has been linked with a raft of clubs this summer, including Manchester United, Everton, Bayern Munich and Sevilla.
Bye bye Balotelli: But Mario Balotelli looks destined for the exit door at Anfield after being told he has no future at Liverpool. The Italian striker has not been included in the squads for friendly games against HJK Helsinki or Swindon Town and has been forced to train away from the first-team squad in recent days.
