WALES MOVED A step closer to their first major tournament in 58 years with a 1-0 win away to Cyprus in Nicosia.

Yet again, their talisman Gareth Bale popped up with the winner — rising highest to meet Ashley Richards’ cross with a powerful header on 82 minutes.

Chris Coleman’s team remain three points ahead of Belgium, who also won tonight, and they can book their place at the European Championships for the first time with a win over Israel on Sunday.
