SUNDERLAND AND ENGLAND footballer Adam Johnson has denied three charges of sexual activity and another of grooming a 15-year-old girl.
The 27-year-old winger appeared at Durham Crown Court with his legal team this morning and pleaded not guilty to all four counts. He was released on bail and his trial will begin on 24 August.
Johnson, capped 12 times for England, was first arrested back in March after the alleged incidents with an underage girl but went on to help the Black Cats secure their Premier League status.
