AIDEN MCGEADY IS the latest player to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland squad for their friendly against Wales next Wednesday.
According to a statement released by the FAI, the winger sustained a knee injury during a training session with Spartak Moscow.
The 27-year-old midfielder follows Anthony Pilkington, Simon Cox and David Forde to withdraw from the game which was supposed to give Giovanni Trapattoni a chance to assess his options ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifiers with Sweden and Austria.
No replacement has yet been named.
