French striker given permission to leave squad to 'sign a contract with Man Utd'

Anthony Martial was allowed leave the national team to travel to England.

THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE of the French national team is reporting that Anthony Martial is set to sign for Manchester United.

The Monaco striker requested permission to leave the French base at Clairefontaine to travel to England to “sign a contract with Manchester United.”

Given the circumstances, France manager Didier Deschamps acceded to the request request and he left the squad at 11am this morning.

According to RMC Sport, the deal will see United stump up €60 up-front with an additional €20m in performance bonuses. However, other sources are putting the up front figure at closer to €35 million.

In other United news, it looks like both Javier Hernández and Adnan Januzaj will leave the club on loan before the transfer window closes.
