BOHEMIANS HAVE AGREED an ‘undisclosed’ fee with Tunisian club L’Espérance Sportive de Tunis for the sale of Ayman Ben Mohamed.
The 21-year-old’s move to the 26-time Tunisian champions is subject to international clearance, the completion of a medical and the agreement of personal terms between the player and club.
Ben Mohamed joined Bohs at the start of the current League of Ireland season and his sparkling performances saw him receive an international call-up for Tunisia for an African Cup of Nations Qualifier in June.
The winger, who was born in London but moved to Ireland at the age of two, qualifies to represent Tunisia through his father, who is originally from the capital Tunis.
Ben Mohamed will now play for the city’s, and country’s, most successful football team as his fledgling career continues to blossom.
L’Espérance Sportive de Tunis play at the 60,000 capacity Stade Olympique de Rades stadium and have won the domestic league title 13 more times than any other side.
Ben Mohamed, who is studying Business, Economics and Social Studies in Trinity College, moved to Dalymount Park during the close season from Longford Town and has been in exceptional form throughout the campaign.
He first rose to prominence with UCD after coming through the schoolboy ranks of Wayside Celtic and St Joseph’s Boys.
