Bayern Munich deny shock Pirlo swoop talk

“Bayern have neither contacted the player and his advisers, nor made an offer to Juventus,” Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

BAYERN MUNICH HAVE denied reports that they have made an attempt to sign Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

The 33-year-old has rejuvenated his career after starring in Antonio Conte’s unbeaten Juventus side last season, and also led Italy to the final of Euro 2012 this summer.

However, the Bavarian giants have denied they made any attempts to lure the former Milan man to the Allianz Arena, as has been reported in various Italian media outlets.

“Bayern have neither contacted the player and his advisers, nor made an offer to Juventus,” a statement from CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge read on the club’s official website.

Pirlo played in 37 Serie A games for Juventus last season, scoring three goals. He joined the Bianconeri on a free transfer last summer after a decade of service at AC Milan.
