Bramble suspended by Sunderland over police investigation

Titus Bramble will play no part for Steve Bruce’s side while an investigation into his arrest on Wednesday is ongoing.

TITUS BRAMBLE HAS been suspended indefinitely by Sunderland following his arrest on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old defender was questioned and then released on police bail over allegations of sexual assault and possession of a Class A drug early on Wednesday morning.

A statement from Sunderland read: “Sunderland AFC has confirmed that Titus Bramble has been suspended from duties pending the outcome of a club investigation.

“The player will not attend team training or be available for selection for matches during this period.

“The club is unable to make any further comment on the matter at present.”

Bramble played in Monday night’s defeat to Norwich, but his absence should be offset by the return from a knee injury of Michael Turner against West Brom on Saturday at the Stadium of Light.
