Brian Murphy called up to Ireland squad ahead of Serbia friendly

The QPR goalkeeper gets the nod ahead of Shay Given.

MARTIN O’NEILL HAS called up QPR goalkeeper Brian Murphy to his Ireland squad ahead of the friendly with Serbia on Wednesday.

The FAI have confirmed that the Waterford native will provide cover for the injured Rob Elliot.

The 30-year-old is uncapped at senior level and gets the nod ahead of veteran shot-stopper Shay Given.
