The centre has been sidelined since December with an ankle injury but has resumed full training this week ahead of the western province’s trip to the Stadio Monigo.

Aki’s return is a major boost for Pat Lam ahead of the final block of fixtures with the Pro12 champions currently sitting in eighth position.

Connacht issued a positive injury update this afternoon with Andrew Browne, Stacey Ili (both ankle), Eoin Griffin (chest) and Cian Kelleher (hamstring) all shaking off their respective problems to be reintegrated back into squad sessions.
