15 reasons why you'll never be as cool as Cathal Pendred's dog

Ringo’s a star.

IF YOU FOLLOW Irish Ultimate Fighting Championship athlete Cathal Pendred on Twitter, the chances are that you’re familiar with his dog Ringo.

Back in September, Pendred came across Ringo as a stray near his home in Dublin but he was unable to locate his owner.

The mixed martial arts star quickly took a shine to the pooch, however, and Ringo soon cemented his status as an official member of the Pendred clan.

Eight months later, the dog is starting to become a bit of an internet celebrity. Here are 15 reasons why you’ll never be as cool as Ringo Pendred…

1. Step aside David Hasselhoff, Ringo’s got this…

2. You want some?

3. Sticking it to the man…

4. Nobody’s taking Ringo’s Xbox games…

5. I want my f**kin’ Schmackos!

6. Out on the session…

7. Once it hits your lips it’s so good…

8. Yeah, I’m a dog dressed as an elf. Got a problem with that?

9. Nobody likes being the third wheel but Ringo knows you never leave a man behind…

10. He pees where he wants, he pees where he waaaaaaants…

11. Ringo is so devoted to training that he set up his own Brazilian jiu-jitsu mats at home…

12. Lads’ night in to watch the fight…

13. An unbeaten UFC fighter is his chauffeur and bodyguard…

14. It’s hard work being a badass canine in the sunshine…

15. They see me rollin’, they hatin’…

Mick, it’s an article about an MMA fighter, I’m an MMA fan. Now breathe slowly and don’t get too excited. Good lad.

As a kid I would always find stray dogs and sit with them for hours hoping someone would come and take them home. The process of going home knowing I couldnt bring them was always a heart breaker for me. Articles like this make me happy that there are others in the world that feel that way too. :) Good for Cathal.

What is the fascination with Pendred? Does he pay ye to put up these articles?

    Hi Jim,

If that were the case then we probably wouldn’t be earning very much as this is the first article about him we’ve had in seven weeks (16 March was the last one). I’m not sure that constitutes a fascination, but to answer your question, we report on Cathal as he’s an Irish sportsman who many of our readers are interested in.

    Thanks and all the best,

    Paul
