EPCR say rescheduled games will not take place before mid-December

However, they remain adamant the games will be played.

EUROPEAN PROFESSIONAL CLUB Rugby (EPCR), in association with the Top 14, English Premiership and Guinness Pro12, has decided not to schedule any of the Round 1 or 2 postponed fixtures for the weekends of 27-29 November or 4-6 December.

Five Champions Cup games, as well as the Challenge Cup fixture between Pau and Castres, were postponed because of last week’s terrorist attacks in France that left more than 100 people dead.

However, while some teams — most notably English side Bath — have suggested the games should not be rescheduled, the EPCR says that both it and the domestic leagues remain adamant the fixtures will be played.

In a statement this morning, European club rugby’s governing body said it hoped that new dates would be announced as soon as possible following the completion of Round 2.
