DOWN’S CHARLIE SMYTH could be in line for a sensational return to kicking duties for the New Orleans Saints when they play the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.
Smyth’s recall has been reported by NFL journalist Michael McQuaid as well as local news sources.
Smyth has had an eventful couple of years with the Saints, being waived twice as part of final roster cuts, only to be re-signed the following day to the practice squad.
It has emerged that Daniel Carlson has been released from the Saints in recent days, leaving the door open for the Mayobridge man to show the kind of talent that brought a 56-yard field goal against the Miami Dolphins almost a year ago.
