Damien Cahalane set not to be involved with Cork hurling squad next season

Cahalane last featured for Cork in July’s All-Ireland semi-final defeat at the hands of Galway.

DAMIEN CAHALANE IS set not to be involved with the Cork senior hurling panel in 2027.

The news was first reported by The Irish Sun this morning that the long-serving defender will be absent next season as change continues for the Ben O’Connor-managed setup.

The St Finbarr’s club man broke onto the Cork senior hurling setup in 2012, making his debut that season. He played football only at senior level for Cork in 2013, was a dual player for the county in 2014, before playing as a hurler only since the 2015 season.

Cahalane last featured for Cork in July’s All-Ireland semi-final defeat at the hands of Galway. A four-time Munster senior hurling medal winner with Cork, he was involved last month as his club lost out to Glen Rovers in the Cork senior hurling showpiece.
