Chelsea set to agree a whopper €77 million-a-year kit deal with Nike after ditching Adidas

Only Man United’s lucrative contract with the German sportswear giant is worth more.

CHELSEA ARE SET to sign a lucrative kit sponsorship deal with Nike worth €77 million-a-year, according to reports.

The Premier League club last week terminated their six-year contract with Adidas and are on the brink of confirming the second biggest deal in the top-flight.

Adidas’ contract was worth €38 million annually but Chelsea opted to sever ties with the sportswear giant at the end of next season.

It’s reported to have cost the club €48 million in compensation but the Nike agreement will only be second to Man United’s deal with Adidas.

The Old Trafford club still have the biggest kit deal in Europe, worth a staggering €96 million-a-year.

Adidas will continue to sponsor Chelsea next term and their kit for the 2016-17 season has already been revealed.

With no European football at Stamford Bridge next season, the new commercial deal is a significant financial boost for the Blues with incoming manager Antonio Conte tasked with reviving the club’s fortunes.
