BOTH LEGS OF Cork City’s upcoming clashes with Rosenborg are to be broadcast on television in Ireland.
It was confirmed this afternoon that the two games in the Europa League third qualifying round tie will be carried live on RTÉ 2.
It’s a welcome development for Cork City supporters after neither of their recent Champions League encounters with Legia Warsaw were available to an Irish TV audience.
City will host Rosenborg at Turner’s Cross this Thursday, 9 August. The second leg will take place in Trondheim on Thursday, 16 August (both 7.45pm Irish time).
John Caulfield’s side dropped down to the Europa League and received a bye to take them beyond the second qualifying round following their Champions League elimination in Warsaw.
Rosenborg were knocked out of the Champions League at the second qualifying round. The Norwegian champions suffered a 3-1 aggregate loss to Celtic.
The winners of this tie will progress to the Europa League’s play-off round, where another victory will take them into the group stages. The play-off round draw will be made this Monday.
