Cork draft in senior panellists for tomorrow's Munster intermediate hurling final

Cork face Tipperary in Semple Stadium in Thurles.

CORK HAVE DRAFTED in members of the county’s senior hurling panel to their setup for tomorrow night’s Munster intermediate hurling final against Tipperary in Semple Stadium.

Corner-back Mark Ellis and wing-forward Rob O’Shea – who were both part of Jimmy Barry-Murphy’s panel that lost out to Limerick last Sunday in the Gaelic Grounds – both get starting berths on this occasion for the county intermediate side.

Colm Spillane, who was also on the bench last Sunday, and Brian Hartnett, one of the members of the extended senior panel, are on the bench for tomorrow night’s clash.

The other change to the Cork intermediate side from that which defeated Clare at the semi-final stage is full-forward Jamie Wall, a dual U21 for the county this year.

Edward Finn, Stephen Dineen and Kevin Canty are the players to make way.

O’Shea, Spillane, Hartnett and Wall will be hoping to make up for the crushing disappointment of Cork’s heavy loss to Tipperary in last night’s Bord Gáis Energy Munster U21 hurling semi-final in Thurles.

CORK: Martin Coleman (Ballinhassig); Mark Ellis (Millstreet), John O’Callaghan (Inniscarra), Eoin Dillon (Milford); Tadhg Healy (Buttevant), Ross Cashman (Kilbrittain), Michael Walsh (Kildorrery); John Cronin (Lisgoold), Shane McCarthy (Ballinhassig); Brian Lawton (Castlemartyr), Peter O’Brien (Kildorrery), Rob O’Shea (Carrigaline); Colm Casey (Inniscarra), Jamie Wall (Kilbrittain), Mark Kennefick (Ballygarvan).
Subs: James McSweeney (Bandon), Brian O Sullivan (Fermoy), Colm Spillane (Castlelyons), Barry Lawton (Castlemartyr), Bill Cooper (Youghal), Brian Hartnett (Midleton), Anthony Watson (Milford), Adrian Mannix (Kilworth).
