CORK BOSS JOHN Cleary has revamped his backroom team for the 2027 season with Donegal native Gavin Gallagher joining in a coaching role
Gallagher, who will also double up as a selector, has been involved with the Castlehaven senior football side in recent years, helping them claim Cork senior titles in 2023 and 2024, while also enjoying a Munster final success over Dingle three years ago.

The addition sees Gallagher fill the vacancy created by the departure of Kevin Murray after the close of the 2026 campaign.
Cork have also drafted in Terry O’Brien (Mallow – goalkeeping coach) and Dylan Byrne (St Finbar’s – strength & conditioning team) for next season, with Paddy O’Shea and Cian Sisk moving on.
Cleary’s side exited the 2026 championship with a quarter-final loss against eventual All-Ireland winners Mayo, while they will start next year in Division 1 of the league, after securing promotion last spring.
