ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP president Dana White spoke exclusively to Setanta Sports tonight, covering an interesting range of topics with presenter Fergus Ryan.
Among many other things, the UFC boss mentioned that the world’s leading mixed martial arts organisation have still got their sights set on a record-breaking event at Croke Park.
White confirmed that if Conor McGregor defeats defending champion Jose Aldo in this July’s featherweight world title bout, the UFC will aim to have the Dubliner defend the belt at GAA headquarters.
He said: “We want to do Croke Park, we really do. If this kid [McGregor] wins that title, we want his first defence to be in Croke Park.”
You can watch the full interview below, featuring Dana White’s thoughts on the growth of mixed martial arts in Ireland, the use of performance-enhancing drugs, and the possibility of a rematch between Conor McGregor and Joseph Duffy.
