Danny the champion of the world? Welbeck hungry for title win

“Clevz was biting his fork as well as his food and growling.”

MANCHESTER UNITED STRIKER Danny Welbeck has insisted that he is hungry for the champions to retain the Premier League title.

United sit just two points behind rivals and league leaders Manchester City after narrowly beating Norwich City on Sunday, with veterans Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs grabbing goals for United. Welbeck has been a pivotal player for Alex Ferguson’s side this season after being handed first-team opportunities by his manager, scoring nine goals in total.

United has just 12 games remaining to overhaul City and travels to the Etihad Stadium on April 30 in a potential title decider, but Welbeck said the team will stop at nothing to be crowned champions once more.

“I’m so hungry,” Welbeck told United’s website. “I was just talking about it before (recently) in the canteen with Tom Cleverley. Clevz was biting his fork as well as his food and growling.”

“We both want it so much. I don’t think anybody understands how hungry we are for this title. We want to fulfill our dreams, win the title and keep winning and keep winning. There’s nothing going to stop us.”
