Oscar de la Hoya gives Leicester a shout-out for winning the, eh... Uefa Cup?

So close.

YOU KNOW HOW it is: that really topical news story is a perfect illustration of the argument you’re trying to make, but one or two of the all-important details are just tantalisingly out of reach.

And then you go ahead and wing it anyway.

Oscar de la Hoya invoked the spirit of Leicester City’s Premier League triumph in a — pretty flimsy — attempt to convince the world that Amir Khan actually has a chance against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez tomorrow night.

“Who ever thought that Leicester City, who were 5000/1, would win the Uefa Cup?” he asked.

So close, Oscar, so close. Khan’s reaction says it all really.
