OWEN MULLIGAN HAS left the building.

The Tyrone star is reported – in several sources this morning – to have quit the county’s senior panel.

The All-Ireland winner missed training on Tuesday as well as last night. Tyrone are currently preparing for a third-round qualifier against either Wicklow or Armagh.Mulligan has not been able to box off a position this year, with Harte utilising him as an impact sub. He came on as a second-half sub in both wins over Monaghan and Longford though he started in the defeat to Donegal.

The Examiner’s John Fogarty reports that Harte has already attempted to contact Mulligan “but the 30-year-old may appear a more difficult prospect to convince back” compared to Philip Jordan.
