Ready to go: Down GAA backroom teams finalised for 2013

Niall Moyna has joined Down’s football side, while Paul Flynn is now part of the county hurling management team.

DOWN GAA’S FOOTBALLERS and hurlers have announced their respective backroom teams, as Senior Football Team Manager James McCartan and Senior Hurling Team Manager Gerard Monan finalise their plans for the 2013 season.

Niall Moyna, who trained DCU to win the Sigerson Cup earlier this year and was part of the Dublin senior backroom team that won the All-Ireland senior football title in 2011 , is among the more notable names to join their football set-up, while Paul Flynn, the former Waterford hurler, has linked up with the county hurling management side and will take over as Team Coach.

In addition, Kilcoo man Jerome Johnston is once again on board with the footballers, while Eamon Burns, who previously took charge of Ballymartin, Darragh Cross and Bryansford, also joins the side.

Completing the hurlers’ coaching set-up, along with Flynn, are Martin McCusker from Ballela and Ballycran Clubman Stephen McAree.
