Dzeko throws his hat in the ring for miss of the season as City battle past Stoke

Yaya Touré scored the game’s only goal as City kept the pressure on league leaders Chelsea.

MANCHESTER CITY GROUND out a 1-0 win against Stoke to keep in touch at the top of the table.

But it’s unlikely that Edin Dzeko will be rushing home to watch Match of the Day this evening.

Yaya Toure was City’s matchwinner when he turned in Aleksandar Kolarov’s cross with 20 minutes to play.

Dzeko then had a chance to make the points safe when Jesus Navas squared for him but he got his feet in a muddle with Asmir Begovic stranded and the goal at his mercy.

City held on for the win which keeps them within three points of Chelsea, who beat Everton earlier today.
