SOUTH AFRICA’S Eben Etzebeth has been handed a two-week ban for head-butting Nathan Sharpe of Australia on Saturday.
Lock Etzebeth, 20, thrust his head into the face of Wallabies counterpart Sharpe in the first half of Australia’s 26-19 comeback win in Perth on Saturday.
Stormer player Etzebeth will sit out the Springboks’ match away to New Zealand next Saturday, and will return to availability for the home Test with Australia on September 29.
South Africa managed one win and a draw in two matches with Argentina to begin their Rugby Championship campaign, before their loss to Australia.
