EATEN BREAD MAY soon be forgotten but so are soft red cards, as the video below of Emmanuel Eboue getting sent off against Manchester United in 2008 shows.
The much-maligned former Arsenal man was shown a straight red for a high challenge on Patrice Evra which was almost identical to the one on Alvaro Arbeloa that got Nani sent off against Real Madrid.
Watch the furious reaction of United players Rooney, Nani himself and, hilariously, Rio Ferdinand, as they rush towards referee Alan Wiley, who immediately produces the red card. Anderson even gives the ref a round of applause, presumably of the genuine rather than ‘Rio’ variety.
