Vedette to star again in Hatton's Grace

Colm Murphy’s mare is among the entries for the Fairyhouse Grade 1 as she looks to get back to winning ways.

LAST YEAR’S WINNER Voler la Vedette heads up an eight-strong list of entries for Sunday’s Bar One Racing Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

Colm Murphy’s eight-year-old was on the end of a shock upset when well beaten on her seasonal debut by Whatuthink in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan last month.

The mare was a convincing winner of the Hatton’s Grace in 2011 where she saw off odds-on favourite Mourad to claim the €52,000 top prize.

Willie Mullins is set to send three to post on Sunday with Thousand Stars, Zaidpour and So Young all declared, while Gigginstown contender Trifolium and Noel Meade’s Monksland are also among the entries.

Mullins also has strong chances in the other Grade 1 races on Sunday’s card with Mikael d’Haguenet and Arvika Ligeonniere among the eight entries for the Drinmore Novice Steeplechase.

Noel Meade saddles Sword of Destiny and Texas Jack while the Tony Martin-trained Dedigout, an easy winner of his beginners’ chase earlier this month also lines up.

In the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle, Cheltenham winner Champagne Fever goes up against Jessica Harrington’s Jezki and Dessie Hughes’s Minsk.

Midnight Oil and Zuzka are the other entries from Mullins’s yard while Henry de Bromhead sends Clonbanan Lad.
