And he’ll be joined in this evening’s semis by Shane Ryan who, fresh from his brilliant 50m bronze on Saturday, finished fourth in the final heat to qualify in a time of 54.67.
The semi-finals take place from 5.31pm this evening.
In the 200m breaststroke, Darragh Greene swam brilliantly to qualify for this evening’s semi-final in seventh place overall.
Greene finished third in his heat in 2:11.22 and is safely through to swim again later this evening (5.49pm) with a place in Monday’s final up for grabs.
