GAA club fixtures for the week ahead

The dates, times and venues for this week’s key club games.

HERE’S THE DETAILS on this week’s GAA club action.

In Connacht this week the provincial club senior football championship kicks off with reigning champions St Brigid’s putting their title on the line with an opening assignment against Melvin Gaels next Sunday.

In Galway the last four has been reached in the senior hurling championship with last year’s winners Gort, St Thomas, Turloughmore and 2006 champions Loughrea all still in contention.

Sunday October 28th
Connacht SFC club quarter-final: St Brigid’s (Roscommon) v Melvin Gaels (Leitrim), Kiltoom, 2.30pm.
Galway SHC semi-finals: Gort v St Thomas, Kenny Park, Athenry, 1.30pm; Turloughmore v Loughrea, Kenny Park, Athenry, 3pm.

In Leinster there is football action with the Meath and Dublin finals both down for decision over the Bank Holiday weekend along with final replay in Westmeath. The three opening round games in the Leinster club football championship also take place next Sunday.

In hurling the focus is on matters in Kilkenny with the relegation final taking place on Saturday and the two championship semi-finals to be held on Sunday.

Sunday October 28th
Kilkenny SHC semi-finals: O’Loughlin Gaels v Ballyhale Shamrocks, Nowlan Park, 1.15pm; James Stephens v Dicksboro, Nowlan Park, 3pm.
Leinster SFC club first round: St Patrick’s (Wicklow) v Éire Óg (Carlow), Aughrim, 2.30pm; Emmet Óg Killoe (Longford) v St Anne’s (Wexford), Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, 2.30pm; Rhode (Offaly) v St Patrick’s (Louth), Tullamore, 2.30pm.
Meath SFC final: Navan O’Mahony’s v Wolfe Tones, Páirc Tailteann, Navan, 3.30pm.
Westmeath SFC final replay: Mullingar Shamrocks v Garrycastle, Cusack Park, Mullingar, 2.30pm.
Monday October 29th
Dublin SFC final: Ballymun Kickhams v Kilmacud Crokes, Parnell Park, 7.45pm.

In Munster there is plenty football action with the replay of the Limerick final on Friday night along with the deciders in both Cork and Kerry on Sunday. There is also football action in Tipperary with a quarter-final replay on Friday night along with both semi-finals on over the course of the weekend.

In hurling the Clare final is on Sunday afternoon while the opening game of the Munster senior club championship is on as well.

Friday October 26th
Limerick SFC final replay:
Dromcollogher-Broadford v Newcastlewest, Gaelic Grounds, 7.30pm.
Tipperary SFC quarter-final replay: Éire Óg-Annacarty v Thomas McDonagh’s, Templetuohy, 8pm.
Sunday October 28th
Clare SHC final: Cratloe v Newmarket-on-Fergus, Cusack Park, Ennis, 2.30pm.
Cork SFC final: Castlehaven v Duhallow, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, 3.15pm.
Kerry SFC final: Dr Crokes v Dingle, Austin Stack Park, 3.15pm.
Munster SHC club quarter-final: Kilmallock (Limerick) v Thurles Sarsfields (Tipperary), Kilmallock, 2pm.
Tipperary SFC semi-finals: Clonmel Commercials v Loughmore-Castleiney, Leahy Park, Cashel, 2.30pm.
Monday October 29th
Tipperary SFC semi-final:
Killenaule v Thomas McDonagh’s/Éire Óg-Annacarty, Venue TBC, 2.30pm.
Finally in Ulster the club hurling battle between reigning All-Ireland champions Loughgiel Shamrocks and Portaferry takes place on Sunday.
Sunday October 28th
